The idea for this book was hatched when I went into our daughter's room to place the customary coins under her pillow and remove the tooth she had lost that day. Well, she woke up and looked at me groggily and muttered something, causing me to panic and ran from the room. I was so upset that my carelessness might have prematurely ended her period of innocence when she still believed in all the stories and fantasies that I had to do something. That something was to write an apology on behalf of Alifair the tooth fairy, and place it under her pillow. Since she wasn’t fully awake and not quite sure what had actually happened, she not only believed the note but became excited that she might have glimpsed a fairy. Even if you don’t have an emergency, this is a fun little book with magical pictures that all children will enjoy.
